藤田嗣治　版画展ー小さな職業人とエロスの愉しみ

— Petits Métiers et Gagne Petit & Les Divertissements d’Éros —

藤田嗣治が描く、二つの異なる世界。

「小さな職業人」では、さまざまな職業になりきる子どもたちの姿を通して、パリで働く人々への藤田の温かなまなざしが感じられます。

「エロスの愉しみ」は、オッフェンバックの愛をテーマにした詩集のために制作された挿絵です。藤田が浮世絵や春画を研究し、「乳白色の下地」と繊細な描線を確立した時代を象徴する作品です。

Foujita’s two contrasting worlds.

In Petits Métiers (“The Little Trades”), Foujita’s warm and affectionate gaze toward the people working in Paris can be felt through the charming figures of children pretending to be various professionals.

Les Plaisirs d’Éros (“The Pleasures of Eros”) consists of illustrations created for a poetry collection on the theme of love by Jacques Offenbach. These works represent a significant period in Foujita’s career, when he studied ukiyo-e and shunga, and established his distinctive “milky white ground” and delicate, refined lines.
