Foujita's two contrasting worlds.

In Petits Métiers ("The Little Trades"), Foujita's warm and affectionate gaze toward the people working in Paris can be felt through the charming figures of children pretending to be various professionals.

Les Plaisirs d'Éros ("The Pleasures of Eros") consists of illustrations created for a poetry collection on the theme of love by Jacques Offenbach. These works represent a significant period in Foujita's career, when he studied ukiyo-e and shunga, and established his distinctive "milky white ground" and delicate, refined lines.
